


Daniel Baldwin was born in 1978 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK, and a MM in Composition with an emphasis in Wind Band Conducting from Kansas State University. His primary composition teachers include Craig Weston, Max Ridgway, Eric Ewazen, and he has had additional studies with Timothy Mahr, as well as studying conducting with Michael Knedler at NWOSU and Frank Tracz at Kansas State University. He is currently the Director of Bands and Orchestra and Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music at Tabor College. His duties included directing band and string orchestra, teaching music theory, and directing all aspects of the instrumental music program.
He is an award winning composer who has been commissioned by performers from the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and National Symphony Orchestra, among others, and in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and at National and International conventions such as the Masterworks Festival, Midwest Clinic, MENC National Convention, and at the International Festivals of the associations of Clarinet, Horn, Trombone, and Double Reeds, among others. All of his music is published by Imagine Music Publishing, through which he has been given his own band/orchestra/choir series and has just been offered an exclusivity deal.
